New ARCOPLATE product range. |
11 February, 2002 |
Alloy Steel International are pleased to announce the introduction of an exciting upgraded new range of alloys specifically designed to combat wear, hang up, sliding abrasion at high and low temperatures, impact and gouging abrasion.
2003 will see Alloy Steel International introduce the broadest range of super Alloy’s and ceramet materials of any major manufacture of bi metallic wear products.
Alloy Steel International and metallurgist world over have long recognised that there is no single material on market that will cope with more than one variable at a time. With that in mind Alloy Steel International has developed the best possible solution for any specific application.
Gone are the days when one was left with one shoe fits all types of feet and applications. Mining and production equipment has to be reliable and cost effective. Alloy Steel International has brought to the mining and mineral processing materials truly designed to help the plant and maintenance engineer, the tools necessary to achieve production goals only once thought impossible.
Alloy Steel International is all about reducing your production costs and maximising productivity.

Cement Mixer Breaks all Records |
22 March, 2002 |
Alloy Steel International (ASI) received a call from Blokpave which is a division of the BGC group of companies. Blokpave are a diversified construction group manufacturing a broad range of building and construction materials. Blokpave purchased their mixers from a manufacturer in Germany. The original wear liners were alloy castings, heat treated to give a hardness of 60 RoC. Even though these castings were hard by castings standards their life expectancy caught BGC by surprise. After six months of continuous service BGC were caught out when the protective liners became worn out and BGC were not prepared for such rapid wear.
Hence they were caught without any spare liners for their cement mixers.
ASI received a call from Mr Stephan Bunting Superintendent of Maintenance asking ASI whether or not Arcoplate was able to help him out of a situation where replacement liners had a lead time of 4 months from the OEM. The original mixer has now been running continuous for two years and subsequently BGC have upgraded their other two mixers to Arcoplate 2565 6 on 5.
Besides the mixer walls being lined with Arcoplate 2565 6 on 5 Mr Bunting has also upgraded the mixer paddles with Arcoplate 10 on 9 2560. Since that time BGC Blokpave have gradually introduced Arcoplate in all areas where wear was a problem which caused considerable down-time and lost productivity.
The manufacturing cement products industry are just one industry where Arcoplate has proven its superiority in wear resistance.
