Cement Manufacture
In cement manufacturing, fine particle abrasion is a very significant cause of
shutdowns and production losses. Alloy Steel International has specifically
designed a range of products with a range of superior metallurgical structures
to combat wear. Arcoplate's unique microstructure, with its ultra fine and
high volume of M7C3 carbides and other complex carbide structures, are capable
of resisting wear due to fine particle (and in some cases high temperature
abrasion).
Field trials worldwide have clearly demonstrated that
Arcoplate out surpasses all forms of welded wearplate.
The extremely high density of primary and secondary
carbides, uniformly dispersed throughout the entire
thickness of the alloy overlay, ensures performance
like no other!
Arcoplate's unique and smooth surface finish adds
to the technical superiority of the microstructure.
This greatly reduces cavitation and turbulence erosion. |

Cement Cyclone
Case Study
Arcoplate fabricated Cyclones using Arcoplate ArcoAlloy 1600, 6 mm
overlay with 7 mm backing plate.
In cement production Arcoplate ArcoAlloy 1600 cyclones
have proven to be extremely cost effective. Comparing
Arcoplate to QT, Arcoplate typically exhibits an increase
of better than 8 to 1 wear life.
For example, 1 mm of Arcoplate would equal 8 mm of
QT plate with a nominal hardness of 400 BHN.
