Laboratory and field tests have shown
that the Arcoplate process means Arcoplate will outwear
conventional wear plate with single or multiple hard
facing layers by up to six times, due to conventionally
welded overlay plate having a much lower carbide content,
it lacks being homogeneous and has uneven hardness
throughout. |
In the following areas, Arcoplate has no equal:
- Alloy hardness.
- Matrix toughness.
- Surface smoothness.
- Light weight for greater wear.
- Minute controlled cross checks.
- Carbide density and homogeneity.
|

Smooth surface and even bonding. |
Arcoplate wear plates are widely accepted
in the mining and mineral processing industry where
they have demonstrated time and again their ability
to outlast the competition by a considerable margin.
This, of course, means less shut downs to change out
liners and thus greatly increases productivity and
allows production programs to be met with ease.
Cost Effective and Technically
Superior
The unique method of manufacture by Alloy Steel International
results in a product that has many technical advantages
and is surprisingly priced in the same range as its
competition.
When the extra life of Acroplate is taken into account the price
of the product becomes greatly reduced. In many installations the
competitor's product has to be changed three, four or more times to
match the volume of Arcoplate regarding an equivalent thickness wear
plate. |
 |
Benefits Arcoplate has over its competition:
- Cost effectiveness.
- Reduced downtime.
- Greater wear resistance.
- Uniform and smooth surface finish.
- Lighter and reduction in work place accidents.
|
Arcoplate is Easy to Use
Arcoplate can be easily welded to form
larger sheets that can be cut, rolled and pressed to
form complex shapes. Still exhibiting its ability to
withstand wear.
To the right we can see Arcoplate ArcoAlloy 1600 6mm
overlay on 9mm backing being rolled to a 250mm diameter. |

So Hang-Up Isn't Expensive?
Arcoplate reduces Hang-Up through its smooth surface finish.
By reducing Hang-Up you can minimise wear and tear
on machinery like hydraulic rams by reducing weight, and increase the payload of Dump
Trucks by minimising Hang-Up or Carryover.
The diagram and tables below explain how Hang-Up can be very expensive if ignored.
